At A Family In Need, our mission is to empower families in need across the nation, fostering strength, resilience, and togetherness. We believe in the power of family and are dedicated to ensuring that families facing adversity not only survive but thrive. Our commitment extends across a spectrum of challenges, including but not limited to cancer, autism awareness, hunger, and financial hardships, each uniquely highlighted throughout the year to be given the attention and support they deserve.

Every family deserves to feel safe. But for too many, the devastating reality of human trafficking turns that basic right into a distant hope.

From May through June, A Family In Need is dedicating our focus to an often hidden issue affecting families across the U.S. and beyond: human trafficking. Whether it’s a child manipulated through online platforms, a woman sold to buyers, or a parent forced into labor under threats of violence, trafficking rips apart lives and communities.

We’re here to change that.

Through advocacy, education, and direct support, we’re showing up for families who have been impacted and standing alongside the organizations that fight this crisis every day.

Shared Mission, Shared Impact

From May 12th to 19th, A Family In Need proudly partnered with the West Texas Food Bank for a special fundraising event in Midland and Odessa, Texas. This week-long initiative was dedicated to addressing the urgent issue of food insecurity in our community, providing essential resources and support to families facing hardship.

Throughout the week, we raised funds for families in need while highlighting the incredible work of the West Texas Food Bank. Our efforts were a testament to our commitment to support those facing adversity, with a special focus on food insecurity among American families.

A heartwarming collaboration is underway between A Family In Need and the wonderful, women-led brand Put Me On. Together, they’re excitedly anticipating the release of the ‘Nanny’s Set’ athleisure collection, set to debut on April 15th, 2024. This collection holds a special significance—it’s a touching tribute to one of Put Me On’s co-founders’ cherished grandmother, who bravely faced pancreatic cancer.

The ‘Nanny’s Set’ is more than just a clothing line; it’s a symbol of love, resilience, and generosity. Inspired by the enduring spirit of the co-founder’s late grandmother, whose legacy continues through her famous phrase “P.S. you’re my favorite, but don’t tell”.

What makes this collaboration even more impactful is its philanthropic mission. With every purchase of the ‘Nanny’s Set’, a portion of the proceeds will be dedicated to supporting a family grappling with pancreatic cancer through A Family In Need. It’s a beautiful way to honor the memory of a remarkable woman while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing similar challenges.

Supporting Our Firefighters Beyond the Flames

The fires may be out, but the impact remains. During the recent Los Angeles wildfires, the Los Angeles Fire Department worked tirelessly battling flames, protecting homes, and saving lives. Their dedication kept countless families safe. We are so happy to have been able to support Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation efforts by donating to their wildfire fund, helping provide essential tools, equipment, and resources to keep them prepared not just for this fire, but for whatever comes their way. We’re grateful for everything the LAFD does for their communities. Thank you, heroes!

Family Gateway offer’s stability and life-changing supportive services to families with children experiencing or near homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties in Texas. They are the leading agency in addressing family homelessness in their community and serve as the entry point for families seeking assistance. Services they offer include assessments to determine what interventions a family needs, creative solutions to avoid a shelter experience (e.g., eviction prevention), emergency shelter, supportive housing, general and vocational case management, and education programming.
